Puez-Odle

A world history book

Within its 9400 hectares, composed primarily of rocky high plateaus at altitudes of just under 2500 meters above sea level, the Puez Odle Nature Park is of interest primarily for its great range of geological formations, enriched by landscapes of great scenic beauty like natural amphitheaters, caves, arches alternating with bold rock pinnacles and bizarre forms of erosion to be admired, in particular, on "Col dala Soné".

Another of this protected area’s most interesting aspects is also undoubtedly its great variety of geological structures, of exceptional interest park-wide and frequently unique, not only in the Dolomites context. The Gardenaccia or Col de Puez high plateau moonscapes, with the only Jurassic and Cretaceous era deposits to be found in the Dolomites, are just a couple of examples.
